Position Overview

Software Section Leader – Battle Management Systems Software Department, RTX, Ft. Wayne, IN. This on‑site role requires U.S. citizenship and a valid U.S. government Secret clearance or the ability to obtain one prior to start.

• Ensure each employee has suitable work assignments and opportunities for growth and advancement.
• Contribute to the technical oversight of employees in support of their daily work assignments.
• Develop and implement performance assessments and appraisals.
• Plan salary and staffing in alignment with company policies.
• Communicate company and program information to the team.
• Support a major program and maintain adherence to company policies.

• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience; a STEM degree required.
• Experience with complex systems and software development techniques and tools (C/C++, Java, Ada).
• Experience with design, coding, integration, and testing of large systems.
• Experience working in Agile environments such as Scrum, SAFe, and Dev Sec Ops .
• Ability to obtain and maintain an Interim U.S. government Secret clearance on day 1.
• Preferred:
  Master’s degree in STEM, 3 years of additional experience.
• Proficiency with Atlassian Suite, Jenkins, Eclipse, Ansible, CI/CD pipelines, Red Hat and Linux.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, decision‑making, and leadership skills.
• Customer focus and ability to collaborate with leadership, teammates, and suppliers.

USD 86,800 – 165,200 annually, commensurate with experience.
