Job Overview
Principal Software Engineer – Embedded Cryptographic Solutions (Onsite)
Security Clearance- Active and transferable DoD Secret clearance required prior to start date.
- U.S. citizenship mandatory; only U.S. citizens eligible for clearance.
- Design, develop, integrate, and verify secure embedded software for military communications products.
- Lead advanced cryptographic solution development in C++ or Rust, including device management, reprogramming, key management, and encryption algorithms.
- Architect scalable, multi‑threaded embedded codebases and drive architecture improvements.
- Collaborate with hardware, FPGA, and software teams to ensure seamless product integration.
- Define requirements, oversee implementation, drive test case development, and manage certification processes.
- Mentor developers, promote best practices, and cultivate a high‑performing engineering culture.
- Influence design to enhance security and reliability of critical communications systems.
- Degree in STEM field or Advanced Degree with minimum 8 years of relevant experience (or 5 years with an advanced degree).
- Embedded software development experience with C, C++, or Rust on complex, multi‑threaded systems.
- Proficiency in Python and embedded Linux.
- Experience with full‑lifecycle software development practices and configuration management tools.
- Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to deliver results on schedule.
- Experience in embedded security software development and integration.
- Comfortable with Linux development tools, mutexes, semaphores, queues, and inter‑process communication.
- Exposure to secure software and cryptographic algorithms.
- Proficient in scripting languages and networking protocols.
- Experience leading teams and managing projects through the full software lifecycle.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies and process improvement.

$107,500 – $204,500 USD (based on experience).
