Role Overview
Principal Software Engineer – Embedded Cryptographic Solutions, on‑site, U.S. Citizen only.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the design and development of secure, multi‑threaded embedded C++ or Rust codebases for military communications products.
- Integrate advanced cryptographic capabilities (device management, reprogramming, key management, encryption algorithms) into embedded Linux platforms.
- Collaborate with hardware, FPGA, and system engineering teams to ensure seamless product integration.
- Define comprehensive requirements, oversee implementation, and drive test case development, verification, and certification processes.
- Mentor and coach software engineers, promoting best practices and a high‑performing engineering culture.
- Influence product security and reliability, guiding future innovation and best‑practice development.
- 4+ years of experience in embedded software development and integration; 8+ years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree with 5+ years of experience.
- Proficiency in C, C++, or Rust and scripting with Python.
- Strong understanding of multi‑threaded product software, standard full‑life‑cycle practices, and configuration‑management tools.
- U.S. citizenship; current, active, transferable DoD Secret security clearance required prior to day one.
- Embedded security software development experience.
- Expertise in Linux development (mutexes, semaphores, queues, IPC).
- Knowledge of secure software and cryptographic algorithms.
- Experience leading teams and managing projects through the full software lifecycle.
- Strong background in Agile methodologies and process improvement.
- Proficiency with Python and networking protocols/IP networking.
