Job Summary
The Dump Truck Driver is primarily responsible for driving a tri or quad-axle dump truck and delivering construction materials to and from job sites. The driver is responsible for the safety of the truck, the material(s), and the equipment being hauled, and works with Brooks Construction supervisors to ensure jobs are performed correctly.

- Complies with all Department of Transportation (Use the "Apply for this Job" box below). state, and local regulations, including maintaining records.
- Adheres to all company safety policies.
- Completes daily pre‑trip truck inspections.
- Operates a dump truck for various construction jobs, including back‑spreading stone, gravel, or related materials, and dumping into an asphalt paver.
- Maintains basic geographic knowledge of northeastern Indiana and uses maps.
- Works overtime and various shifts based on job needs.
- Calculates the preparation time for on‑time deliveries.
- Coordinates repairs to a truck promptly.
- Keeps up to date with federal or state regulations related to transported items.
- Adapts quickly to changes during the workday or workweek.
- Assists others in the department as needed.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Must hold and maintain a valid Class B Commercial Driver's License for manual transmissions.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience driving a dump truck.
- Previous hands‑on construction experience is preferred, with knowledge of heavy construction equipment.
- Passes all pre‑employment drug and/or alcohol tests as required by company policy and, if applicable, DOT regulations.
- Desirable to be a member in good standing with the local Teamsters union or willing to become a member.
- Lifting/Carrying:
Up to 50 lbs. frequently. - Pushing/Pulling:
Up to 50 lbs. frequently. - Movement Requirements:
Must safely climb in and out of a dump truck; bend, stoop, and kneel; perform inspections and adjustments in varying conditions without limitation. - Meets the minimum physical requirements stipulated in Section 391.41 of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety.
- Field environment.
- Works with internal customers (Dispatch, Foremen, Project Managers, Field Superintendents, etc.).
- Works outdoors in all seasons and weather conditions (rain, snow, extreme heat or cold, water, mud, dust, etc.).
- Willing to work evenings, weekends, and long hours or extensive overtime (sunrise to sunset) when necessary, often with little or no notice.
