The Revenue Clerk is responsible for providing administrative support to the Oil and Gas Accounting Department, performing routine clerical, filing, and data entry tasks including revenue input and reconciliations.

Essential Functions:
  • Demonstrates basic knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles and duties.
  • Must meet productivity standards and timing that pertain to the distribution of revenue on the 8th calendar day of each month.
  • Conducts routine data entry management for accounting records including revenue processing from checks and online websites.
  • Inputs oil and gas revenue data from checks and electronic sources.
  • Reviews, codes, verifies, and maintains revenue statements, mechanical journal entries, revenue checks, cash receipts, and similar documents in the accounting system and reviews for accuracy; alerts supervisory staff of any discrepancies.
  • Maintains hard copy and electronic filing systems.
  • Verifies purchaser accounts by reconciling monthly statements and related transactions.
  • Maintains journals or subsidiary ledgers of an accounting system, and balances and reconciles GL accounts.
  • Understands full cycle accounting, specifically within the revenue cycle, to assist with any special projects and financial analysis needs.
  • Performs all administrative functions utilizing excellent analytical and organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize work in a timely manner.
  • Demonstrates excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Required to be onsite a minimum of 3 days per week.
  • Must have exceptional organizational and time management skills, and ability to multi-task.
  • Demonstrates regular punctual attendance and adheres to policies and procedures.
  • Receives instructions, prioritizes tasks and completes duties assigned by manager.
  • Performs all duties following organizational chain of command.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Must present a professional office appearance.
  • Ability to move around office, sitting for prolonged periods working on computer, and ability to lift 5 lbs.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to enter data accurately and efficiently into computer software and systems.
  • Must have proficient ability to use standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, scanners, and fax machines.
  • Excellent ability to use Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. Strong analytical skills and previous Excel experience using pivot tables and v-lookups.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Three or more years’ experience in accounting, bookkeeping, or office environment.
