As part of the HCVT Fort Worth team, you will work in a fast-paced environment, with a tax practice that is focused on serving clientele in the Alternative Investment Management industries. Your

key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Review federal and multi-state income tax returns for individuals, partnerships, corporations, and trusts and related income tax work papers
  • Prepare complex client work and delegate entry level work to staff accountants
  • Take ownership and organize workflow of client engagements, ensuring filing deadlines are met
  • Supervise and manage expectations of engagement teams, staff accountants and/or interns on your teams
  • Responsible for meeting engagement timelines and budget guidelines, and provide job status to partners, managers, and client personnel in a timely manner
  • Identify tax issues and propose strategies to resolve them
  • Effectively and efficiently research technical tax issues
  • Respond to and prepare correspondence for state & federal tax authorities
  • Develop strong relationships with firm professionals and clients
  • Coach and provide feedback to junior team members
  • Effectively utilize and train others on firm tax preparation software
  • Participate in staff and senior level trainings
  • Ensure high quality of work product
Key skills and experience we are seeking:
  • Minimum two years of relevant tax experience
  • Experience with taxation of “flow-through” entities is preferred, private equity experience a plus
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related major required
  • Passed all 4 sections of the CPA exam and have met the requirements to obtain their CPA license strongly preferred
  • Strong technical aptitude and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Proven experience in leading and supervising junior team members
