Cost Accounting Manager

A well-established, privately held manufacturing organization is seeking a Cost Accounting Supervisor/Plant Controller to lead all financial operations for its facility. This role reports into senior finance leadership and serves as a key business partner to plant operations, driving cost visibility, operational efficiency, and financial discipline across the site.

• True ownership of the plant P&L
• Direct partnership with operations and executive leadership
• High-impact role with visibility across the business
• Open due to growth and leadership need at the plant

• Own all plant-level financials, including P&L, inventory, and COGS
• Lead standard costing, cost roll-ups, and variance analysis (materials, labor, overhead, yield)
• Oversee inventory accounting
  , including raw materials, WIP, and finished goods
• Drive accurate accounting for batch production, yield, scrap, and spoilage
• Lead month-end close, including journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal controls
• Partner closely with plant leadership to deliver actionable financial insights
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, and KPI development for the plant
• Manage and develop a small accounting team

• CPA required
• 5+ years of experience in manufacturing, cost, etc.
• Proven experience owning a full P&L at the plant or business unit level
• Strong background in standard costing and Bill of Materials (BOMs)
• Deep understanding of inventory, COGS, and cost accounting in a manufacturing setting
