Position OverviewWe are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced General Ledger Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in managing the financial operations of our company, ensuring accuracy and compliance in all accounting and bookkeeping tasks across our multi-state operations.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain accurate financial records, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries.
- Reconcile bank statements and credit card transactions.
- Record payroll and payroll tax activity for employees located across multiple states, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Correspond with our payroll provider to help maintain up-to-date payroll account information to ensure the accuracy of payroll tax reporting and deductions.
- Record vendor invoices across multiple states to ensure timely and accurate recording of expenses and liabilities.
- Maintain accounts payable subledger and A/P Aging to ensure timely payments to vendors.
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations and tax requirements for all operating states.
- Review payroll provider filings and correspond with our payroll provider as necessary to ensure they have the latest information to prepare and file state-specific tax forms and reports accurately.
- Generate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for management review.
- Assist with budget preparation and forecasting.
- Prepare documentation and provide support during internal and external audits.
- We use Financial Management Software. Though preferred, knowledge of Win Team is not required, but you must be willing to learn and become proficient with the Win Team Accounting and Financial Management Software.
- Proficiency in payroll and financial management tools as necessary to maintain efficiency, accuracy and documentation requirements of the company’s activity.
- Education: Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience.
- Experience managing finances for multi-state operations is highly preferred.
- Technical
Skills:- Proficiency in an accounting software and willingness to learn and become proficient with the Win Team Accounting and Financial Management Software.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
- Familiarity with state-specific tax laws and payroll regulations.
- Understanding of multi-state financial operations.
- Other
Skills:- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Potential for remote or hybrid work schedule (depending on proficiency). Persons residing in the Dallas/Fort Worth area preferred as this position will require some in-office work.
