Job Description

AZZ has an exciting opportunity for a Manager of Corporate Accounting at our Fort Worth, Texas corporate office. Reporting to the Director of Corporate Accounting, you will execute the company’s accounting operations and financial accounting processes. You will work closely with the accounting team to ensure accurate financial reporting, compliance with accounting standards, applicable regulations, and company policies. You have strong knowledge of GAAP, SEC regulations, and enjoy providing working mentorship to a rapidly growing team.

Duties

and Responsibilities
  • Ensure AZZ’s financial statements are prepared in compliance with U.S. GAAP, including assessment of new or changing business activities to maintain ongoing compliance.
  • Maintain compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley 404 (SOX) by evaluating the control environment, recommending improvements, and collaborating with Internal Audit and segment finance teams.
  • Maintain balance sheet and income statement account structure in Oracle, approving new accounts or changes in classification to ensure compliance.
  • Prepare accurate, timely balance sheets and income statements, ensuring proper classification of activities, accruals, and asset evaluation.
  • Ensure completeness and accuracy of account reconciliations, including FX impacts and intercompany activities, and continuously improve reconciliation reports and procedures.
  • Prepare and maintain roll forward reports for each balance sheet account or group, identifying cash versus non‑cash activity and new or changed activity for monthly, quarterly, and year‑to‑date periods.
  • Oversee and prepare balance sheet and income statement reports and analysis to identify errors, new activities, or anomalies, including monthly expense trends and significant items.
  • Drafter and maintain accounting procedures and controls to ensure ongoing compliance with established policies.
  • Track passed adjustments to financial statements, ensuring timely and accurate resolution and inclusion.
  • Communicate effectively, both written and oral, across the organization regarding business issues and accounting treatment.
  • Manage, hire, develop, and motivate a high‑performing accounting team, providing direction and guidance to enhance skills and drive results.
  • Proactively seek areas to improve processes and gain efficiencies.
  • Take accountability for assigned responsibilities in the functional area.
Qualifications
  • 6+ years of experience in finance, accounting, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems, especially Oracle (EPBCS, FCCS, Service Management, Strategic Modeling, Financials), and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience in public financial organizations preferred; prior manufacturing or project‑based job costing experience is a plus.
  • Knowledge of U.S. GAAP.
  • Must be able to travel domestically up to 10%.
Minimum Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field required.
  • Master’s degree (MBA, Finance, or related) preferred.
  • CPA, CMA, or other relevant certification preferred.
