About the Company

Our client is a Fort Worth based private equity fund specializing in Oilfield Service investments.

Position Overview

They are seeking an experienced Controller to join their team in Fort Worth, Texas. The Controller represents a unique opportunity to join a fast growing, high performing, and dynamic platform. As the senior most accounting position in the funds, the Controller will gain valuable experience.

Potential opportunity for advancement to Chief Financial Officer based on organizational needs, individual experience, and post‑hire performance over a timeframe to be determined; such advancement is not guaranteed.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee all accounting activities for the private equity fund, including general ledger maintenance, journal entries, reconciliations, and financial close processes.
  • Manage capital call and investor reporting processes, including preparation of investor notices, tracking funding activity, and maintaining related records.
  • Review and approve NAV calculations and investor allocations.
  • Maintain accurate records of investor commitments, contributions, distributions, and ownership balances.
  • Coordinate with third party providers including, but not limited to; auditors, tax advisors, and fund administrators.
  • Assist with audits, tax filings, and regulatory reporting requirements.
  • Support cash management, treasury activities, and fund liquidity planning.
  • Partner with firm leadership on ad hoc reporting, analysis, and special projects.
  • Monitor cash flow, liquidity, and capital planning for the fund(s).
Qualifications
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) not required but strongly preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
  • Prior relevant work experience required, preferably in private equity, fund administration, investment management, or public accounting.
  • Strong understanding of fund accounting principles and private equity fund structures.
  • Preference for prior experience with capital calls, distributions, and investor reporting.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Excel and accounting/reporting systems.
