Assistant Controller

Ideal Partners is a rapidly growing, multi‑entity organization serving a diverse range of industries including Fire Alarm, Fire Sprinkler, HVAC, Roofing, Pest Control, Security, Mechanical Services, and Construction. Our continued growth through expansion and acquisition has created an exciting opportunity for an experienced Assistant Controller to join our accounting leadership team.

The Assistant Controller will work closely with the Controller to oversee daily accounting operations across multiple entities. This individual will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial reporting, managing month‑end close, supporting project accounting, and helping ensure strong internal controls.

The ideal candidate has experience in the construction or service industries, understands project accounting, is highly proficient in Microsoft Excel, and has hands‑on experience with Sage Intacct.

• Assist with the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close proces
• Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statement
• Maintain the general ledger across multiple legal entitie
• Support project accounting by monitoring job costs, work‑in‑progress (WIP), revenue recognition, and profitabilit
• Assist with consolidating financial statements for multiple companie
• Review and analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improve men
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and company accounting policie
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow analysi
• Partner with operations leaders to improve financial reporting and project performanc
• Develop and improve accounting processes and internal control
• Support external audits and tax preparatio
• Assist with acquisition integrations and process standardization across business unit
• Mentor and support accounting staff as neede

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance requir
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experien
• Experience in construction, contracting, or project‑based service industries strongly preferr
• Strong understanding of project accounting, job costing, percentage‑of‑completion accounting, and WIP reporti
• Hands‑on experience with Sage Intacct requir
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills including Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP, INDEX/MATCH, SUMIFS, and data analys
• Experience with multi‑entity accounting and financial consolidatio
• Strong understanding of GA
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skil
• Ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlin
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skil
