Controller; Oil and Gas

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain the company's core accounting infrastructure, including chart of accounts, close processes, and internal controls
• Own the month-end and year-end close process, producing accurate and timely financial statements
• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable, including oversight of bill payment systems and vendor relationships
• Develop and document accounting policies and procedures appropriate for a growing operations-stage company
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis in partnership with the VP of Finance
• Coordinate with external auditors, tax advisors, and other third-party service providers
• Assist with financial reporting requirements for investors, lenders, and other stakeholders
• Identify and implement automation opportunities to improve efficiency across accounting workflows

• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, with some exposure to operational or manufacturing environments preferred
• Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting
• Experience building or significantly improving accounting processes, not just maintaining them
• Comfortable working in a lean, fast-paced environment with limited resources and high expectations
• Proficiency with modern accounting software and tools; experience with  or similar AP platforms a plus
• CPA or equivalent experience welcomed but not required — we care more about what you've built than what letters follow your name
