Construction Controller

Carter Rolan Group are partnering with a highly respected and rapidly growing construction and manufacturing business to appoint a Construction Controller into a key leadership position. This isn't simply a Controller role focused on month-end close. You'll oversee the entire accounting operation while working closely with project teams to improve profitability, strengthen reporting and provide meaningful commercial insight across a diverse portfolio of construction and manufacturing operations. • Lead and develop the Accounting team across General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Financial Reporting.
• Take ownership of the month-end, quarter-end and year-end close process.
• Prepare accurate US GAAP financial statements and executive reporting.
• Drive budgeting, forecasting and financial planning across the business.
• Partner with operational leaders to improve project profitability and financial performance.
• Analyse WIP schedules, percentage-of-completion accounting, job costing and contract performance.
• Strengthen internal controls, accounting policies and financial processes.
• Lead cash flow management, forecasting and working capital initiatives.
• Coordinate annual audits and tax compliance with external advisors.
• Build dashboards and deliver financial insights that support strategic business decisions.
• Act as a trusted advisor to the CFO and executive leadership team.

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance.
• CPA preferred.
• 10+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Previous Controller experience within a construction, manufacturing or project-based environment.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP and financial reporting.
• Extensive experience with:
• Percentage-of-Completion (POC) Accounting
• Work-in-Progress (WIP) Reporting
• Job Costing
• Contract Accounting
• Proven experience leading and developing accounting teams.
• Strong ERP systems experience.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to partner with both finance and operational leaders.

• Base salary of $130,000-$150,000
