Staff Accountant - Commercial Real Estate

Description

Robert Half Finance and Accounting is working with an established real estate and development firm in Fort Worth, Texas on a search for a Staff Accountant. This position supports the accounting and financial reporting activities for a portfolio of properties while working closely with the Controller, property management teams, and investment partners.

Responsibilities:

- Prepare monthly financial packages for a portfolio of real estate assets.

- Examine lease documentation and summaries to confirm financial terms and supporting details are correct.

- Process renovation funding requests and internal draw submissions in a timely and accurate manner.

- Partner with property managers to develop annual operating budgets for assigned properties.

- Perform monthly cash reviews and analyze account activity to support sound financial oversight.

- Assemble supporting schedules and documentation for audits, external reviews, and tax preparation.

- Contribute to ad hoc analysis, historical financial research, and special assignments as needed.

- Apply GAAP principles to daily accounting work, reconciliations, and period-end close activities

Requirements

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.

- 2 or more years of accounting experience, preferably within real estate or construction development.

- Understanding of accrual-based accounting and month-end close procedures.

- Experience supporting accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger activity, and bank reconciliations.

- Strong organizational skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally.

- High attention to detail and solid proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word.
