Cost Accounting Manager
The Cost Accounting Manager is a hands-on manufacturing finance leader responsible for building, implementing, and managing the cost accounting and inventory accounting framework for URGO Medical North America's manufacturing operation. This role will establish the processes, controls, standard-costing methodology, ERP disciplines, reporting routines, and governance required to support startup, validation, operational ramp-up, and sustained growth.
Serving as the primary accounting business partner to Manufacturing Operations, the Cost Accounting Manager will translate plant activity into accurate financial information and actionable business insight. The role will work in close partnership with FP&A, providing the cost, inventory, production, variance, capacity, and operational data required for budgeting, forecasting, long-range planning, KPI development, scenario analysis, and management decision-making.
Success requires a builder mindset: the ability to create scalable processes where mature infrastructure does not yet exist, operate effectively through ambiguity, influence cross-functional partners, and maintain disciplined financial controls while the site transitions from startup into routine commercial operations.
Competencies include an entrepreneurship mindset, strong manufacturing cost accounting expertise, business-partner orientation, strong ERP and data discipline, high level of analytical rigor, problem solving, attention to detail, and sound professional judgment. Ability to prioritize and execute in a fast-paced startup environment with changing requirements and incomplete infrastructure. Clear written and verbal communication skills and the ability to explain complex cost and accounting concepts to non-finance stakeholders.
