Staff Accountant Opportunity

Robert Half Finance & Accounting and Kevin Sweet have partnered with a growing manufacturing organization to identify a Staff Accountant to join its accounting team. This is an onsite opportunity for an accounting professional who enjoys working in a hands-on manufacturing environment and wants to play an important role in general accounting, inventory costing, Bill of Materials (BOM) management, and multi-state sales and use tax compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with month-end close activities and general ledger responsibilities.
• Maintain accurate financial records and perform account reconciliations.
• Research and resolve accounting discrepancies as needed.
• Build and maintain new Bill of Materials (BOM) structures.
• Update component costs and ensure accurate inventory costing.
• Audit manufacturing inventory layers for accuracy.
• Conduct physical inventory floor walks to verify inventory against BOM components.
• Partner with Engineering and Production teams to update component costs and improve costing accuracy.
• Verify scrap rates and yield factors.
• Identify and resolve inventory and costing variances.
• Manage and maintain sales tax exemption certificates.
• Assist with multi-state sales and use tax compliance, filings, and reporting.
• Monitor changes in state physical and economic nexus requirements.
• Utilize automated sales tax software to support accurate tax calculations and compliance.
