Overview
Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) is seeking an Administrative Assistant III for the Fair and Fraud Hearings Department in Fort Worth, TX. This role supports hearings staff by providing administrative, clerical, and administrative support to ensure efficient hearings operations.
Location & ScheduleFort Worth, TX – 1501 Circle Drive. Day shift. Telework is eligible after successful training.
Responsibilities- Respond to inquiries from external and internal partners.
- Communicate effectively with staff, appellants, and legal representatives to gather and convey information regarding the hearings process.
- Collect, process, and upload petitions for hearing and evidence documents into computer databases (State Portal, TIERS, Excel).
- Sort and distribute mail and correspondence, including faxing and copying.
- Prepare appointment notices and manage scheduling of hearings.
- Create statistical reports using Microsoft Office software.
- Assist with calling in for hearings and processing dismissals and withdrawals.
- Complete other duties as assigned by the Manager.

- Knowledge of office practices and administrative procedures.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, Teams, PowerPoint).
- Strong written communication (spelling, grammar, punctuation).
- Standard office equipment and software skills.
- Time‑management and accurate project completion.
- Prioritization of multiple tasks.
- Professional collaboration.
- Effective correspondence and report composition.
- Editing and proofreading capability.
- Ability to follow written and oral instructions.
- Independent work ability.
- Professional telephone and email communication.
- Implementation of administrative systems and interpretation of rules and regulations.
- Experience in clerical or administrative support work (preferred).
- Proficiency in MS Word, Outlook, Teams, PowerPoint, and/or Excel (preferred).
- Experience with the State Portal and TIERS (preferred).
- Experience managing multiple tasks with deadlines (preferred).
- Graduation from a standard senior high school or equivalent.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish (preferred but not required).
