Job Summary:
The Assistant to the Dean is responsible for facilitating College of Science and Engineering objectives by coordinating high-level administrative affairs, faculty processes, personnel support, and programs (including operational, faculty affairs, and programmatic activities).
Duties &Essential Job Functions:
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree and 3 years' experience with higher education administration or academic programming.
- OR
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent and 7 years of experience in higher education administration or academic programming.

Licensure/Certification /Specialized Training:
- None
- None
- Knowledge of academic programming, admissions process, degree programs, transcript evaluation, and student advising.
- Knowledge of department and university specific computer software.
- Knowledge of customer service techniques.
- Knowledge of research techniques.
- Skill in some or all components of Microsoft Office and navigation techniques.
- Skill in the navigation of Microsoft Windows.
- Ability to review and make recommendations to improve and streamline processes.
- Ability to clearly communicate verbally and in writing.

Physical Requirements (With or Without Accommodations):- Visual acuity to read information from computer screens, forms and other printed materials and information.
- Able to speak (enunciate) clearly in conversation and general communication.
- Hearing ability for verbal communication/conversation/responses via telephone, telephone systems, and face-to-face interactions.
- Manual dexterity for typing, writing, standing and reaching, flexibility, body movement for bending, crouching, walking, kneeling and prolonged sitting.
- Lifting and moving objects and equipment up to 10 lbs.
- Work is indoors and sedentary and is subject to schedule changes and/or variable work hours.
- This role is an on campus, in-person position.
- There are no harmful environmental conditions present for this job.
- The noise level in this work environment is usually moderate.
