GS-4: To be eligible at the GS-4 level, you must meet at least ONE of the following conditions, as defined below:
General Experience, Education, OR a combination of Education and Experience.
General
Experience:
General Experience is defined as experience performing various clerical/administrative duties in support of the operation of an office. Examples of general experience include: receiving telephone calls and visitors to the office; responding to inquiries and providing general information; utilizing word processing applications and other software to input, organize, share, and access information.

Combination Experience and Education Successfully completed education above the high school level and general experience may be combined to meet the qualification requirements at the GS-04 grade level. To be qualified, you must type at least 40 words per minute based on a 5 minute sample with three or fewer errors. (A typing test may later be required.)
You MUST meet all qualification requirements, including time-in-grade, by the 08/13/2026 of this announcement.
