Position Information

TxDOT's Fort Worth District is looking for one (1) Maintenance Office Support Tech I for our District Maintenance Office. This position keeps the office running day to day, assisting with phone calls, meetings, employee onboarding, orders and procurement, data entry, timesheets, and many other important functions. The ideal candidate is able to communicate and respond quickly and professionally via phone or email to members of the public, coworkers, and local government stakeholders.

  • Answers the telephone, evaluates requests, answers questions, routes messages, and/or serves as receptionist or front
    desk assistant.
  • Assists district personnel with annual inventory of supplies, stockpiles and minor equipment.
  • Conducts monthly spot inventories, verifies inventory findings, reconciles and coordinates with Business Services on
    adjustments needed.
  • Edits correspondence, reports, forms, and documents for proper format, spelling, grammar, punctuation, typographical
    errors, syntax, style, sentence structure, content, and clarity.
  • Maintains and updates office files/records/logs and a wide variety of automated systems in support of personnel, finance,
    budgeting, maintenance, inventory, contracts, purchasing, travel information, and/or permitting activities.
  • Maintains radio contact with field units; responds to assists with emergency situations as required.
  • Prepares statistical reports and verifies for accuracy and completeness.
  • Prepares and distributes correspondence
  • Maintains calendars for department personnel to include scheduling meetings, coordinating and making appointments, and
    travel arrangements.
  • Processes receipts and invoices for payment.
Minimum Qualifications Education

High School Grad or Equivalent in general education

Experience

No Experience Required. (Experience can be satisfied by full time or prorated part time equivalent).

Licenses and Certifications

Valid driver’s license. This position requires driving a state vehicle.
