Roadside Technician – Goodyear Commercial Tire Centers

The role of the Roadside Technician in our company is that of an emergency response tire technician for semi‑truck fleets. When a customer has a tire‑related failure, a Technician is dispatched to the customer’s location to repair or change the tire. The Technician is expected to work outside the shop during these calls and, when no service calls are pending, to assist with inventory, shop maintenance, and general duties as needed.

The position requires participation in a mandatory on‑call rotation. During an assigned on‑call period, Technicians are expected to respond to after‑hours service requests—including evenings and weekends—at a high rate of acceptance. All after‑hours service calls are compensated at a premium pay rate with guaranteed minimums.

• Dispatched to customer locations to repair or replace commercial tires.
• Mount, dismount, and repair tires, including match mounting, matching entries, and radial runout as necessary.
• Inflate tires to prescribed PSI per load requirements.
• Maintain compliance with OSHA regulations and safety requirements, including proper PPE use, tire cage use, and all safety policies.
• Assist with shop organization, inventory management, and general maintenance when on‑site work is not scheduled.

Pay range: $18.00 – $21.00 per hour (base pay may vary by experience and location). After‑hours work comes with premium pay and guaranteed minimums.

• Valid driver’s license and meet commercial driver qualification requirements.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future.

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Previous commercial service tire experience.

• Servicing commercial tires, including dismounting, mounting, and repairing all types of tires.
• Performing match mounting, matching entries, dual assemblies, and radial runout as required.
• Adjusting tire pressure to manufacturer specifications based on load.
• Applying safety best practices and OSHA regulations in all service activities.
