Automotive Technician TCC Sponsored Intern

The Automotive Technician TCC sponsored Intern role is designed to provide hands-on experience and foundational knowledge in vehicle maintenance and repair within Autobahn. This internship aims to develop technical skills by working alongside experienced technicians to diagnose, service, and repair a variety of automotive systems. The intern will gain exposure to industry-standard tools, diagnostic equipment, and safety protocols, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of automotive technology.

By the end of the internship, the candidate will have contributed to maintaining vehicle safety and performance, supporting fleet operations effectively. This role serves as a critical stepping stone for individuals pursuing a career in automotive technology, emphasizing practical learning and professional growth.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in TCC's Automotive Technician program or coursework related to automotive technology.
  • Basic understanding of automotive systems and components.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety protocols.
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous hands-on experience with automotive repair or maintenance, such as through school projects or part-time work.
  • Familiarity with diagnostic tools and software used in automotive repair.
  • Basic knowledge of electrical systems and engine performance.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and eagerness to learn new technologies.
  • Good communication skills to effectively interact with team members and supervisors.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist senior technicians in performing routine vehicle inspections and maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tire rotations, and brake inspections.
  • Support diagnostic procedures by using computerized equipment to identify mechanical and electrical issues.
  • Help in the repair and replacement of automotive components under supervision, ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including proper handling and storage of tools and parts.
  • Document work performed and communicate findings and progress to the technical team and supervisors.

The required skills such as basic automotive knowledge and attention to detail are essential for accurately performing inspections and assisting with repairs, ensuring vehicle safety and reliability.
