Job Description

Job Description

We are growing and expanding! Because of our rapid business growth, Cactus Jack's has immediate openings for Automotive Technicians to join our high-energy Reconditioning Center. We operate in a fast-paced environment built by motivated, career-driven people.

Our unique challenge: We source our inventory directly from vehicle auctions. This means our cars arrive with zero history, zero repair notes, and no indication of what is wrong. We need diagnostic detectives. Whether you are a master problem-solver (Level

A) who can unmask hidden electrical glitches and engine failures, or a skilled mid-level tech (Level

B) who can rapidly identify and repair safety and mechanical baseline issues, we have a bay for you. We actively promote from within and invest in our team's future. If you want a long-term career with a scaling company, apply today.

Pay & Benefits

Salary: $20.00 – $32.00 per hour (Pay determined by experience and technician level classification)

Job Type: Full-time

  • Supplemental Pay: Commission incentives on top of a stable hourly base pay
  • Clear pathways for career advancement in a rapidly expanding company
  • Dynamic, team-oriented work environment

What You Will Do

  • Blind Vehicle Assessments: Perform exhaustive, ground-up inspections on auction-acquired vehicles to uncover hidden mechanical, electrical, and safety defects with no prior vehicle history.
  • Bumper-to-Bumper Repair: Execute comprehensive repairs on identified vehicle systems, ensuring every vehicle meets safety and frontline-ready performance standards.
  • Maintain Shop Standards: Keep the repair bay clean, organized, and compliant with all safety regulations.
  • Specific Duties: Lead the shop in advanced, blind diagnostics. Utilize high-level scan tools and scope equipment to troubleshoot complex electrical, module, computer, and powertrain issues. Perform heavy line repairs including engine/transmission teardowns and replacements.
  • Focus on rapid baseline reconditioning. Efficiently diagnose and repair brakes, steering, suspension, cooling systems, and common mechanical component failures discovered during intake.

What We Look For

  • The "Diagnostic Detective" Mindset: A strong ability to approach a vehicle with zero information, think critically, and efficiently map out a total repair plan.
  • Shop Experience: Professional automotive repair shop experience is required (high-volume reconditioning, or dealership experience is strongly preferred).

Technical Experience:

  • Minimum of 2+ years of professional automotive engine repair, rebuilding, and advanced, multi-brand diagnostic experience.
  • Tool Ownership:Must own a comprehensive set of professional automotive hand tools, air/power tools, and a roll box appropriate for your technician tier.
  • Physical Ability: Capability to lift and move objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Credentials: Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
