* This position is a member of the Corporate Real Estate Facilities Development team within our Corporate Affairs division.

* Responsible for the design and construction oversight of complex corporate facilities primarily at domestic airports but could also include international locations in strict accordance with approved corporate space standards, schedules, budgets, and that meet all requirements of the airline.

What you'll do

* Manage ongoing or planned airport projects to develop master plans that satisfy the objectives and requirements of American Airlines.

* Develop long-term capital improvement plans for American Airlines facilities including facility condition assessments and maintenance planning.

* Develop project scope and definition documents in collaboration with multiple user groups, internal departments, and airport and business partners.

* Prepare internal alignment and funding documents to facilitate decision-making on facility investments and major airport capital programs.

* Develop project plans, cost estimates, budgets, and schedules.

* Prepare request for bid/proposal documents for consultant, designer, and contractor support.

* Evaluate and select outside consultants, contractors, and vendors.

* Develop and administer contract agreements in conjunction with internal procurement partners.

* Provides written and verbal project status updates.

* Assist American's CRE Properties Representatives in evaluating Airport Capital Improvement projects and construction implementation plans.

* Travel to airports and airline facilities to meet with local airport and airline stakeholders and supervise project implementation.

All you'll need for success

Minimum Qualifications - Education & Prior Job Experience

* Bachelor's degree plus relevant experience/training

* 10 years of relevant work experience in planning, design, and construction

Preferred Qualifications - Education & Prior Job Experience

* Prior experience in aviation facilities planning and development

* 5-10 years of demonstrated experience in planning, design, implementation and management of airport facility development projects

Skills, Licenses, and Certifications

* Ability to understand the business objectives and develop facility requirements, planning alternatives, analytical evaluation tools, and capital project solutions based on the best results for the company.

* Ability to anticipate upcoming problems and thereby mitigate them to preserve the project's intent, schedule, and budget.

* Ability to communicate effectively and work with diversified user groups and external stakeholders.

* Ability to educate and inform internal and external stakeholders on the implications of various planning approaches and alternatives.

* Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously and dynamically adjust priorities to meet evolving business requirements.
