An Economic Development Coordinator job is available with the City of Fort Worth Economic Development Department. The selected candidate will support the implementation of programs and projects that advance strategic development and community revitalization. Our mission is to grow high-wage jobs, strengthen the tax base, and enhance Fort Worth’s quality of place.
Primary responsibilities include executing strategies that promote community vitality and equity, and collaborating with developers, property owners, and stakeholders to advance targeted revitalization and catalytic redevelopment projects.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, Economic Development, Urban Planning, or a related field
- Four (4) years of progressively responsible experience in economic and community development
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, Economic Development, Urban Planning, or a related field
- Two (2) years of experience conducting financial analysis and utilization of financial tools, such as tax abatements, grants, or Tax Increment Reinvestment Zones (TIRZ)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with experience in data and project management tools such as Salesforce, Placer.ai, CoStar, and GIS for demographic, market, and economic analysis
Economic Development Coordinator Job Responsibilities Include
- Prepare and deliver presentations and reports for diverse audiences, including TIF/TIRZ boards, City leadership, and community organizations
- Plan, organize and conduct analyses related to the implementation of varied economic programs and projects
- Secure favorable terms and ensure compliance for redevelopment and placemaking projects
- Apply advanced financial, statistical, and comparative analysis techniques to evaluate economic development projects and programs
- Cultivate and sustain strong relationships with residents, businesses, nonprofits, and government officials to align revitalization efforts with community needs
- Work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and deadlines
- Support the development and execution of programs to redevelop targeted areas and strengthen community vitality
- Perform gap analyses, cost-benefit evaluations, and financial modeling for proposed development projects
- Oversee multiple projects, monitor budgets, and ensure timely completion of revitalization initiatives
