Strategy and Business Development Senior Staff - Skunk Works (
Location:
Palmdale, CA)
Provide strategy and business development support across the breadth of the Lockheed Martin Skunk Works Enduring Programs portfolio. Activities span from early shaping of emerging opportunities to major capture and keep-sold of franchise programs. Skunk Works is also expanding into the international market to strengthen key allies and partners.
The selected candidate will communicate with customers and decision makers at all levels focusing on operational capability, cost of ownership benefits, and needs/requirements. Responsibilities include executing customer engagements, building relationships, leading market development, opportunity qualification, customer relationship management, decision mapping, competitive intelligence, customer analysis, competitor assessment, message and strategy development, and preparing written responses to requests for information (RFIs) and proposals.
BasicQualifications
- A minimum of 8 years of experience in advanced technology development and/or operation.
- Bachelor’s Degree.
- Experience crafting presentations for senior decision makers.
- Experience working across organizational boundaries and jurisdictions, leading customer meetings and cross‑discipline teams to develop customer solutions.
- Experience managing multiple competing priorities under pressure.
- Active Secret Clearance with the ability to obtain Top Secret Clearance with SAP/SAR/SCI (with CI POLY) accesses.
- An understanding of command and control architectures and related Ground Control Stations for Unmanned Aircraft, Surface Vehicles, and/or Under Water Vehicles.
- Experience with all phases of capturing new business and the proposal process.
Serve as a strategic partner in shaping growth strategies, building lasting partnerships, and driving results through collaboration, innovation, and strategic execution across the business development lifecycle.

Desired Skills- Knowledge and experience in the field of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning.
- Understanding of Autonomy and its application to US military systems and capabilities.
- Knowledge of the US military Planning, Programming, Budgeting, and Execution (PPBE) process.
- Knowledge of the US military defense acquisition process, including foreign military sales and direct commercial sales.
- Knowledge of US military organizational construct.
- Knowledge of US military operational doctrine.
- Knowledge of US legislative processes and practices.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to quickly grasp technology concepts and translate their value to customers.
- Ability to utilize political skills to cope with conflict.
- Ability to travel.
- Flexibility to quickly adapt to changing business environment and priorities.
Part‑time remote telework:
The selected employee will work part of their schedule remotely and part of their schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
