Volunteer Services Associate

Empowering our communities to alleviate hunger and improve health. That’s our mission, how are you going to drive it? The Volunteer Services Associate will train and monitor volunteers in the product recovery operation.

• Train volunteers to sort, evaluate and box donated products using established standards to ensure food safety.
• Create a fun, inclusive environment for volunteers as they meet the needs of our community.
• Ensure volunteers are following all safety procedures while working.
• Keep product recovery work areas clean and organized, remove trash, recycle cardboard and promote overall cleanliness and inspection readiness.
• Assist with weekly cycle counts and data entry.
• Share innovative ideas about driving to meet the need in our community.
• Monitor inventory levels and request necessary items as needed.
• Operate forklift and pallet jack to place or pick product.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• High school diploma or equivalent and one year of volunteer management experience.
• Working knowledge of computer programs such as Microsoft Office and ability to enter orders into the system.
• Forklift certification and ability to safely operate an electric pallet jack (training will be provided if needed).
• Ability to speak, read, and write English; respond to inquiries and complaints in a tactful and helpful manner.
• Ability to train and monitor volunteers; basic math, count and label product; pallet jack experience; forklift certification required within 30 days of employment; ability to multi‑task in a busy environment; compassion for our mission.

• Primarily work in a warehouse environment.
• Frequently standing, walking, lifting, and pulling up to 50 pounds.
• Work weekend and evening availability; flexible schedule.
