Under the direction of the Operations Manager, the Outbound Pick and Replenishment Supervisor is responsible for day‑to‑day site operations, including supervision of warehousing, receiving, and shipping of product in a manner consistent with company service and cost objectives. Additional duties include planning of inbound and outbound volume, customer communication activities, space utilization & management, equipment management. People management responsibilities include hiring and training, labor management planning, performance appraisal, addressing performance issues, and resolving problems.
As part of the DSV team, associates are expected to meet company objectives in performance, safety, and quality, and comply with all corporate and site‑specific policies.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Develop and implement systems and procedures for safe and profitable operations, equipment, and products in accordance with company policies and guidelines.
- Manage operations to meet prescribed productivity and service goals, complying with client SLAs.
- Drive continuous improvement efforts and provide cost‑saving suggestions.
- Meet all client‑specified KPIs and comply with quality system requirements.
- Apply sound communication and motivational techniques, and oversee fair staffing and discipline as needed.
- Collaborate with Human Resources to create hiring, training, and professional development programs, and participate in performance evaluation systems.
- Deliver results by leveraging the right people at the right time.
- Keep senior management and client representatives informed of critical operational issues.
- Plan daily work schedule by reviewing work orders, arrival notices, and customer instructions.
- Adjust priorities based on time sensitivity and resources, assigning duties to appropriate staff.
- Reorganise warehouse space and adjust supply, equipment or staffing levels as needed.
- Ensure effective training is delivered and SOPs are followed.
- Assess trainee progress to determine fit and new‑hire performance.
- Maintain high motivation among team members to achieve customer satisfaction.
- Provide ongoing growth and development opportunities.
- Support adherence to standard operating procedures.
- Conduct routine staff meetings to review daily and weekly work activities.
- Ensure team members are trained on required information systems such as WMS.
- Ensure necessary computer software and hardware are purchased per IT policies.
- Maintain knowledge of hardware and software changes.
- Develop proficiency in client systems.
- Maintain high‑level customer service standards across all functions.
- Ensure client accounts receive required operational and administrative support.
- Maintain appropriate contact with all functions and respond promptly.
- Attend or lead meetings with key customers to discuss issues.
- Coordinate management of supplier/customer visits to the site.
- Promote positive relationships with clients through excellent service.
- Support annual operating budget development.
- Implement controls to achieve service levels and operational goals within cost and profit parameters.
- Assist budgeting and pricing activities to comply with contract guidelines.
- Manage programs to maintain sanitation, maintenance, security, housekeeping, safety, and equipment standards.
- Ensure team members are trained on material handling equipment (MHE).
- Stay informed on new technology and recommend when applicable.
