Business Operations Consultant/Project Director
Work directly with privately held, owner‑led businesses to materially improve operational performance, financial controls, and long‑term profitability. The role requires 100% domestic travel and the Project Director acts as a co‑CEO in the field.
Position OverviewBusiness Consultant Project Directors partner with business owners and leadership teams to install the operational, financial, organizational, and accountability systems needed to run effectively and scale sustainably. The role is hands‑on transformation, requiring active leadership, not merely project oversight. The Director leads the client relationship from initial engagement through measurable outcomes.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Deliver quantifiable and sustainable value for clients reflected through the income statement, balance sheet, cash flow, and quality of life.
- Develop, implement, train and evaluate solutions that address client challenges.
- Oversee identification and communication of work to be completed on behalf of the client.
- Communicate clearly and concisely with the assigned Assistant Director or Senior Project Director.
- Minimum five years of consulting experience with a proven track record of delivering value for clients.
- Experience in financial performance improvement, organizational change, coaching ownership and employees, and managing the full lifecycle of a consulting engagement.
- Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
- Advanced computer skills (Microsoft Suite, financial software, dashboards, CRM, and project management software).
- Valid state‑issued driver’s license and current auto insurance.
- Ability to travel onsite to clients (100% travel requirement).
- Authorized to work in the United States.
- Proven fiduciary responsibility, preferably having managed a budget of $10M+.
- Prior business ownership preferred.
