- This job is a member of the Network and Schedule Planning Team within the Revenue Division.
- Responsible for analyzing and developing future network schedules that are designed to maximize American’s profitability, working collaboratively with all groups within the Network Planning and the rest of the Commercial organization.
- Builds, maintains, and enhances vendor and in-house tools, as well as reports that support the Planning and Scheduling groups, and other stakeholders
- Gathers business requirements, validating assumptions and methodology, and presenting recommendations to various levels of leadership
- Possesses a team-focused attitude and an ability to coordinate with stakeholders in Network Planning, Operations Research, and IT
- Represents Network Planning during interactions with other commercial and operational groups
- Focuses on forecasting and analysis to support various strategic initiatives in our current forecasting system (IFS), as well as making contributions to developing our next generation forecasting system (NGFS) and fleet assignment model (FAM)
Minimum Qualifications
- Education & Prior Job Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Economics, Data Analytics, Airline Management or similar field or equivalent experience/training
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in airline Network Planning/Scheduling, Revenue Management or Financial Analysis
Preferred Qualifications
- Education & Prior Job Experience
- Master's degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Economics, Data Analytics, Airline Management or similar field
- Knowledge of airline networks and network economics
Skills, Licenses & Certifications
- Ability to solve complex problems and puzzles in a constrained and dynamic environment
- Ability to leverage understanding of the airline business and commercial goals to drive results and innovative solutions
- Ability to be adaptive to new ideas and business processes in an ever-changing marketplace
- Ability to challenge self and team to develop future-oriented network strategies
- Abilty to communicate and collaborate, work with cross-functional groups to drive outcomes which benefit the entire airline
- Skilled at sharing knowledge to develop the expertise of the team as a whole
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office to include Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
- Knowledge of Air Vision Schedule Manager
