Traveling Construction Superintendent for Retail Store Buildouts

The Superintendent is responsible for the on‑site supervision, coordination, and execution of day‑to‑day operations on construction or industrial job sites. This role ensures that work is performed safely, on schedule, and in accordance with quality standards and project specifications. The Superintendent acts as the key liaison between workers, subcontractors, and management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee and manage all on‑site construction activities.
  • Supervise and direct crews, subcontractors, and vendors.
  • Ensure adherence to safety regulations, company policies, and OSHA guidelines.
  • Interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction documents.
  • Plan work sequences and allocate resources accordingly.
  • Track daily progress, labor, and material usage.
  • Coordinate inspections and quality control efforts.
  • Communicate regularly with the Project Manager on progress, issues, and requirements.
  • Resolve conflicts or delays and implement corrective actions.
  • Maintain site logs, reports, and documentation.
  • Monitor tool and equipment usage and ensure proper maintenance.
Experience
  • Proven experience in retail construction, specifically in gondola, décor, and millwork installation with a strong background in supervising multiple sites simultaneously.
  • Extensive knowledge of construction site operations including safety procedures, blueprint reading, and quality assurance practices.
  • Supervisory experience leading diverse teams of subcontractors and labor crews; excellent management skills with a focus on team coordination.
  • Knowledge of OSHA safety standards; commitment to maintaining a safe work environment at all times.
Job Requirements
  • Travel required, as jobs exist in multiple states.
  • Must have tools and transportation.
  • Valid driver's license.
