Position Summary

Working under the direct supervision of the Transmission Construction Manager, these roles are responsible for supporting the development and maintenance of project site development schedules, coordinating construction efforts in the field among various entities, updating construction status information, and communicating on overall project status with multiple parties. The assigned projects are in various stages and occurring simultaneously. The Coordinator Associate is expected to work from the office and in the field, as required.

The environment can be physically and mentally demanding, requiring frequent site visits regardless of weather. Issues may require immediate attention, some resolved remotely, others requiring unscheduled visits. The position may be mentally challenging due to numerous projects and changing conditions requiring schedule adjustments on short notice.

Key

Roles & Responsibilities
  • Reading, interpreting, and understanding transmission grading, erosion control, and physical substation and switching station project plans.
  • Understanding site grading practices, erosion control measures, soil compaction & testing procedures, soil classifications, and drainage infrastructure.
  • Conducting field visits to job sites to evaluate plan construction needs and develop detailed construction schedules and work sequence documents.
  • Developing construction schedules, revising, and maintaining phasing plans between multiple contractors to minimize mobilizations & standby time.
  • Identifying permitting risks from various municipalities and forecasting schedule implications with confidence.
  • Coordinating meetings such as District status, pre-bid, pre-construction, customer-related, with Construction Manager, engineers, etc., and providing solutions to any identified issues.
  • Communicating effectively on overall project status and maintaining relationships with internal and external parties to resolve construction and coordination issues.
  • Making suggestions to construction contractors for alternative work plans to maintain the schedule.
  • Reviewing projects near the end of construction schedules for completeness, and if issues are identified, developing and communicating a “resolution plan” to the Construction Manager and other responsible parties.
  • Prioritizing multiple tasks to maintain project schedules.
  • Providing recommendations to the Transmission Construction Manager to improve processes, practices, and procedures to accomplish goals more efficiently and cost‑effectively.
  • Learning and applying the Oncor Transmission and Contractor Safety Handbook requirements.
  • Possessing basic knowledge of Transmission line and substation construction activities and materials.
  • Learning the computer skills required to use normal office programs and other company programs.
  • Performing all essential aspects and functions of the job as well as any other specific job requirements.
