Senior Project Engineer - Mission Critical

Ryan Companies US, Inc. offers an exciting opportunity for a Senior Project Engineer to join our National Mission Critical team. This role bridges the on‑site construction team and project management leadership, taking ownership of key project administration tasks and managing specific phases of the construction process with increasing autonomy. The position is designed for individuals with foundational construction experience who are eager to grow their project management skills on large‑scale, technically complex projects and follow a direct career path to a Project Manager role.

• Project Management Support
  • Assist the Project Manager in overall project administration from pre‑construction to closeout.
  • Lead management of project documentation, including RFIs, submittals, and meeting minutes.
  • Prepare and maintain project status reports for internal and external stakeholders.
• Financial & Contract Administration
  • Assist in preparing and controlling the project budget, tracking job costs and labor productivity.
  • Help prepare detailed bid documents and participate in subcontractor buy‑out and negotiation.
  • Process and track change orders, ensuring accurate and complete documentation.
• On‑Site Coordination & Execution
  • Serve as a key point of contact for subcontractors, architects, and engineers to resolve day‑to‑day technical issues.
  • Assist the Superintendent in developing and managing the project schedule to meet milestones.
  • Participate in and help lead jobsite coordination meetings, contributing to problem‑solving and planning.
  • Champion Ryan’s “Safety First” culture and help ensure the highest standards of quality control.
• Project Closeout
  • Lead the project punch list process to ensure timely completion.
  • Assist in compiling final closeout documentation, including as‑built drawings and O&M manuals.

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
• 2–3 years’ experience as a Project Engineer in commercial construction.
• Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications, and project management fundamentals.
• Proficiency with construction management software such as Procore and Building Connected.
• Excellent organizational, time‑management, and communication skills.
• Proactive, detail‑oriented, solution‑focused mindset with ambition to grow into a Project Manager role.
• Preferred:
  Experience in the mission‑critical sector (e.g., data centers, healthcare, advanced manufacturing) and with scheduling software such as P6.
