About the Job
The Senior Superintendent role is to be accountable for all onsite aspects of a project. The Senior Superintendent will lead teams for Wraps, Podiums, and Type I Construction and is responsible for creating and leading a jobsite culture that promotes mentoring, growth, and accountability for all field related aspects of the project.
Responsibilities- Act as a representative and advocate of JPI’s Culture and Guiding Principles; treat all project team members in a respectful and professional manner.
- Develop and maintain a TEAM culture on the project site.
- Clearly and constructively communicate to all project team members while maintaining appropriate documentation of conversations.
- Assist the Project Manager with OAC meetings and effectively communicate any issues arising with cost implications or schedule delays.
- Ensure the project meets or exceeds expectations by consistently monitoring safety, scheduling, quality control, and all applicable code requirements in accordance with plans and clarifications.
- Develop and implement a program to ensure timely delivery of materials.
- Maintain a complete jobsite schedule encompassing all aspects of the specific jobsite, upload to Procore, and distribute it to the field team.
- Conduct weekly subcontractor meetings covering look‑ahead schedule review, safety, SWPPP, quality control, RFI’s, submittals, coordination items, toolbox topics, etc.
- Perform a thorough plan review prior to going vertical, covering Fair Housing Compliance, Code Compliance, Constructability, Long‑Lead Items, Turn Sequence (Including Jurisdictional requirements), Egress, Dimensional Conflicts, Quality Control, Potential MEP conflicts, etc.
- Document all deviations from plans/specs through RFIs and oversee receipt, review, and approval of all submittals.
- Delegate workload to the field team to accomplish schedule, quality, safety, and budgetary requirements, and follow up to ensure timely and accurate completion.
- Promote a safety culture on the project and oversee all administrative functions of the project.
- Prepare and store all documents required for project close‑out.
- High school diploma or equivalent;
Bachelor’s degree in construction or related field preferred. - 7–9 years of experience as a Superintendent; at least 8 years of construction experience; at least 5 years of multi‑family construction supervisory experience.
- OSHA 30 HR (must be completed within 90 days of hire).
- Familiarity with multi‑family construction procedures, building codes, and construction scheduling practices and software.
- Proficient PC skills.
- Experience assisting in local permitting processes and meeting with Building Officials.
- Ability to maintain petty cash card and receipts as required.
