Low Voltage Electrical Estimator Dallas, TXI'm currently working with a leading technology and electrical contractor seeking a Low Voltage Estimator to support the delivery of large-scale Data Center, Mission Critical, Commercial, and Healthcare projects across Texas.
This position will play a key role in the preconstruction team, responsible for developing accurate and competitive estimates for structured cabling, network infrastructure, fiber optic, security, and low voltage systems. The ideal candidate will combine strong technical expertise with a commercial mindset and the ability to collaborate with clients, consultants, vendors, and internal stakeholders throughout the bid process.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the preparation of detailed cost estimates and budgets for low voltage and structured cabling projects.
- Review construction drawings, specifications, and bid documents to determine project requirements and scope.
- Develop pricing strategies for labor, materials, equipment, subcontractors, and vendor proposals.
- Collaborate with business development, operations, and project management teams during the pursuit and preconstruction phases.
- Identify value engineering opportunities and potential project risks.
- Participate in client meetings, bid reviews, and project handover activities.
- Maintain relationships with owners, general contractors, consultants, manufacturers, and suppliers.
- Preferred Experience 5+ years of estimating experience within low voltage, structured cabling, or technology infrastructure construction.
- Experience supporting projects ranging from $1M to $5M+.
- Strong understanding of:
- Structured Cabling Systems
- Fiber Optic Infrastructure
- Data Center Environments
- Network Infrastructure
- Access Control & CCTV
- Security Systems
- Audio Visual Systems (preferred)
- Experience working on Data Center, Mission Critical, Commercial, or Healthcare projects.
- Knowledge of construction contracting, procurement, scheduling, and cost management principles.
- Strong analytical, financial, and communication skills.
- RCDD certification preferred, or ability to obtain certification.
- OSHA 30 certification preferred.
- Proficiency with estimating software, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field preferred.
