Assistant Project Manager - Tenant Improvement

Position Overview

Assistant Project Manager works with the Project Management team on the planning, coordination, and completion of construction projects. The role involves budgeting, bidding, cost control, client relations, and closeout.

• Role model for Interns, Project Engineers, Senior Project Engineers, and new APMs.
• Own the RFI process.
• Own the submittal process.
• Actively participate in creating accurate and timely budgets and bids.
• Develop knowledge and understanding of project cost controls.
• Own project documentation.
• Actively participate in project meetings and lead and document OAC meetings.
• Coordinate with superintendent and project manager, including frequent site visits.
• Distribute drawings, sketches, shop drawings, submittals, schedules, and punchlists to subcontractor and site superintendent promptly to maintain schedule.
• Own the closeout package process.
• Become proficient in and utilize Clune established systems and technology to work efficiently and to the highest standards.
• Be an ambassador for Clune’s safety culture and OSHA standards, enforce a safe work environment and attend safety meetings.

• Critical thinker, problem solver, capable of making independent decisions.
• Ability to identify and resolve complex issues.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for discussions with Clune members, trade partners, designers, and clients.
• Strong analytical and organizational skills, maintaining accurate and detailed records.
• Understanding of team roles and responsibilities, both internally and externally.
• Growing understanding of trade delineation.
• Ability to read drawings and specs.
• Ability to read construction schedules and how they are built.
• Ability to work and thrive in team environments.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Architecture or Engineering or equivalent industry experience required.
• 2‑5 years of experience managing commercial interior, healthcare and/or mission‑critical projects.
• Background in construction trades and technical knowledge of construction methods a plus.
• Completion of basic budget training.
• Strong computer skills.
