Position Summary
The Sr. Superintendent leads multiple large or complex project teams responsible for the safe, timely, and high-quality installation of commercial HVAC, plumbing, piping, and related mechanical systems. The role converts project requirements into executable work plans, develops field talent, and coordinates closely with project and trade partners. This position reports to the General Superintendent.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead multiple large or complex project teams performing work on commercial HVAC, plumbing, piping, and related mechanical systems and establish clear expectations for safety, quality, productivity, and conduct.
- Build and communicate portfolio work plans using drawings, schedules, coordination information, labor budgets, material status, and jobsite constraints.
- Plan manpower, tools, equipment, access, prefabrication, deliveries, and work areas to support reliable production.
- Review project documents, identify constructability issues and scope gaps, and elevate requests for information before they affect the work.
- Coordinate sequencing and access with project management, general contractors, other trades, vendors, inspectors, and commissioning teams.
- Verify installations against drawings, specifications, codes, approved submittals, and quality checklists; drive timely correction of deficiencies.
- Track installed quantities, labor performance, schedule status, material needs, and constraints; provide accurate daily or weekly reporting.
- Coach employees, assign work, document performance, recognize strong results, and address conduct or performance concerns with management.
- Lead pre-task planning, job hazard analysis, toolbox talks, housekeeping, and incident prevention activities.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- At least 10 years of commercial mechanical construction experience in mechanical work, including progressively responsible field leadership.
- Demonstrated ability to plan labor and material, read project schedules, and lead safe, productive installation work.
- Strong working knowledge of applicable drawings, specifications, codes, testing requirements, and quality standards.
- Ability to use mobile devices and standard construction software for drawings, reporting, time, and documentation.
- Strong communication, coaching, problem-solving, and conflict-resolution skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Completion of a recognized apprenticeship or technical training program.
- OSHA 30-hour Construction credential and current competent-person or equipment certifications relevant to assigned work.
- Experience on large healthcare, data center, laboratory, manufacturing, or other complex commercial projects.
- Experience with lean planning, prefabrication, BIM-enabled work packages, and production tracking.

Working Conditions
Must have the ability to perform the duties above in a non-controlled environment. This will include climbing ladders, working on ladders and elevated surfaces, maintaining in good working conditions, tools, materials, and equipment required to your work area. Working exposed to the elements during (when required) at all times of the year. All employees are required to always wear PPE and always follow Safety procedures.
