Associate Boot Designer

Double D Ranch, the premier clothing and lifestyle brand in the West, is seeking an enthusiastic designer to join our team. Double D Ranch is a family-owned business where we work hard and laugh harder, and we’re currently celebrating our 36th year in business. Our company is proud to employ many that have worked with us for 20, 25 and 30 plus years.

• Report directly to our creative director and senior designers.
• Design a minimum of 2 boots per week.
• Provide footwear trends and market insights.
• Create technical packs for factories to execute design vision with a strong understanding of technical constructions.
• Develop digital CADs of footwear designs.
• Collaborate with our creative team to discuss boot trends, sales, and creative direction.

• Previous experience in the Western industry is preferred, but not required.
• Strong understanding of the Double D Ranch customer and competitive space.
• Energetic, inspiring, creative, forward-thinking, and enthusiastic about design.
• Advanced Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator. Mastery of the program preferred.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience in researching and reporting on industry trend direction, color direction, trim, hardware, and material innovations approximately 9-12 months ahead of season.
• Working knowledge of footwear manufacturing techniques and processes.
• Ability to sketch or communicate design ideas in technically accurate and compelling ways.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively collaborate with Merchandising, Production, and Design associates.
