Associate Communications Director

Role’s Mission:

The Associate Communications Director – Creative is responsible for leading creative development while stewarding and advancing Christ Chapel’s brand across all communications. Shepherding a team of designers, copywriters,photographers, and videographers, this role leads the team in using their skills to exceed expectations, drive creativity forward, and best serve the church.

Christ Chapel’s Mission:“To stretch every involved person from the threshold of their spiritual pilgrimage toward becoming a fully-developing follower of Christ” (Col 1:28-29).Role’s Responsibilities:

Develop, maintain, and champion Christ Chapel’s brand standards across all projects, ensuring all creative elements align with Christ Chapel’s mission, vision, values, theological convictions, organizational goals, and communication standards.

Provide creative leadership for the Communications Department by establishing the visual, verbal, and storytelling direction for major initiatives, sermon series, ministry campaigns, events, and organizational priorities.

Lead, coach, and develop designers, writers, photographers, and videographers — including staff, freelance partners, and volunteers — by providing clear direction, constructive feedback, and opportunities for spiritual and professional growth in their craft.

Partner with the Associate Communications Director – Projects to align creative priorities, provide strategic creative direction, and ensure projects move efficiently from concept through final delivery.

Serve as a creative leader to ministry partners, helping translate ministry goals into clear, compelling, and effective communication strategies.

Lead the creative strategy and concept development for campaigns and key initiatives, including brainstorming, mood boards, messaging direction, visual identity, storytelling, and execution.

Review and approve creative deliverables to ensure excellence, clarity, consistency, accuracy, and brand alignment before publication or distribution.

Continue to “move the needle” by identifying opportunities for creative innovation and improvement tothe quality, and effectiveness of Christ Chapel’s communications.

Help establish and refine creative processes, workflows, and systems that allow the Communications Department to serve ministries with clarity and efficiency.

Cultivate a healthy creative culture marked by humility, collaboration, excellence, encouragement, trust,and a shared commitment to serve the church well.

Translate ministry objectives into clear, strategic creative briefs that successfully guide project execution.

Role’s Reporting Relationship:
This role reports to the Communications Director.

Role’s Requirements:

Maturing believer actively pursuing a deepening relationship with Christ.

Robust and expanding knowledge of creative trends and best practices.

Strong understanding of and proficiency with Adobe products (especially InDesign and Premiere).Ability to give clear, constructive creative feedback.

Ability to balance multiple initiatives while maintaining project quality and deadlines.

Understanding of brand system applications to ensure messaging and visual consistency across all creative communications.

Character-Must be a Christian.

Must be living an “above reproach” lifestyle as outlined in the Bible and Christ Chapel’s Employee Handbook.

Calling-Must be committed to and supportive of the authority of the Elders, the pastoral staff, and the philosophy and direction of the church both in public and in private.

Must work scheduled hours each week as unto the Lord.

Must be a faithful steward of your work and time, with awareness that Christ Chapel employees are paidfrom the tithes and offerings of others.

Competency-This role is best suited for those with the gift of leadership and creativity (Rom 12; 1 Cor 12; Eph 4; 1 Pet
4).Chemistry-Viewed as a capable, competent, and compassionate team member.

Flexible and adaptable to respond to quick changes, helping to meet the mission while maintaining apositive-solutions oriented approach

Able to build and maintain relationships across Christ Chapel’s ministries and departments.

Role’s Preferences:

Experience in a church, nonprofit, or ministry environment is both valuable and preferred.

Strong portfolio demonstrating conceptual thinking, brand development, campaign execution, and creative leadership.
