Airline Support Specialist - Texas (Temp to Perm)
Join our team as an Airline Support Specialist, located on-site at our airline partner’s office. In this role, you will handle hotel and ground transportation reservations, maintain strong relationships with our airline partner, and provide professional and courteous service to customers.
Position Type & HoursTemp-to-perm. Begin as temporary; eligible for conversion after 90 days based on performance and business needs.
Evening shift: 2pm-10pm or 3pm-11pm. Flexible schedule required for holidays and weekends.
Essential Functions / Responsibilities- Serve as API’s on-site liaison with the airline partner, providing support, guidance and training.
- Process client requests received from the airline through the API Operations system, ensuring prompt, well-informed, accurate, and professional responses.
- Follow up on all client requests and transactions and achieve client satisfaction.
- Alert supervisor on critical items requiring management involvement to resolve potential challenges.
- Negotiate with vendors (Hotels, Ground Transportation, others) to obtain the best outcomes for the client and API.
- Resolve client disagreements calmly and professionally; research and present solutions to satisfy client needs.
- Effectively use all available tools and methodology (phone, email, fax, Reservation Systems – ACES, Hotel Express, IHRS) to track and provide solutions to client needs and expectations.
- Adapt to irregular operations (IROPS) to accommodate changing airline schedules and unforeseen situations—including extended work schedules and on‑call duty outside regular hours.
- Learn and maintain knowledge of API’s call center methodology and reservation systems to serve clients efficiently and professionally.
- Achieve a passing score on initial API Operations Agent Training and maintain currency through annual training; passing score required to certify completion.
- Knowledge of airline crew scheduling is a strong plus.
- Prior experience with GDS systems, hotel reservation systems, airline reservation systems, and related functions is preferred but not required.
- Excellent interpersonal, writing, multitasking, prioritizing, detail orientation, and organizational skills.
- Flexible work schedule including availability weekends and holidays; must work overtime if needed.
- Second language, preferrable Spanishis a plus.
- Ability to positively present API in customer-facing situations.
- Customer service background is a plus.
- Airline/Hotel/Travel experience is a plus.
The rate for this position is $22.00‑$25.00 USD per hour.
