Please note that this position is not a remote job and requires the candidate to be on-site during all working hours. The role of Dental Assistant demands a proactive approach and the ability to handle multiple tasks effectively in a high-energy dental practice setting. The chosen candidate will be instrumental in assisting dental practitioners, ensuring patient comfort, and enhancing the operational flow within the clinic.
Dutiesand Responsibilities
- Assist the dentist during a variety of treatment procedures, including but not limited to taking and developing dental radiographs, impressions, or models.
- Maintain dental instruments by sterilizing and organizing equipment for treatments.
- Provide patients with preoperative and postoperative care instructions maintaining communication and patient comfort.
- Manage dental and medical histories and record patient treatment information as necessary.
- Ensure the cleanliness and orderliness of the dental clinic by adhering to infection control protocols.
- Prepare the work area for patient treatment by setting out instruments and materials as needed.
- Guide patients by providing direction regarding preventive dental care, dental conditions, and treatment options.
- Liaise with administrative staff to schedule appointments, update records, and manage inventory.
- Participate in ongoing educational pursuits to update knowledge of dental assistant procedures and administrative responsibilities.
- Support dental clinic operations by following policies and procedures and adapting to new technologies and techniques.
- Proven experience as a Dental Assistant; certification as a Dental Assistant is preferred.
- Familiarity with dental instruments and sterilization methods.
- Knowledge of dental procedures, understanding of health & safety regulations.
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the capacity to communicate effectively with patients and team members.
- Strong organizational skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Adept at using computers and dental practice management software.
- High school diploma; higher degree in dental assistance or certification is a considerable advantage.
- Commitment to continuing education in dental profession trends and technologies.
