Job Overview

As a Gensler Interior Designer, you are passionate about your craft and combine creativity and technical knowledge with business skills to produce functionally beautiful spaces for clients.

Responsibilities
  • Perform interior design assignments including programming client needs, conceptual design, schematic design, design development, space planning and construction documentation.
  • Participate in the selection and presentation of furniture, furniture systems, fabrics, equipment (FF&E), color palettes and lighting.
  • Create initial concept packages with a strong design story to guide the design process through project completion.
  • Conduct programming efforts through space planning studies to arrive at final approved plans that meet the goals of clients.
  • Sculpt interior spaces as a holistic experience, specifying furniture, lighting, artwork, finishes and materials.
  • Lead day-to-day project coordination, prioritizing deadlines, managing communication and coordination with clients and consultants.
  • Communicate conceptual design ideas through 2D and 3D presentation and design drawings.
  • Work with consultants, contractors, fabricators, specification writers and regulatory agencies to meet project objectives.
  • Participate in construction administration, reviewing submittals, finish samples and value-engineering efforts to maintain design intent.
Qualifications
  • NCIDQ or RID Certification required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture or related field from an accredited program.
  • 5+ years of interior design experience.
  • Strong proficiency in Revit, 3D modeling, visualization and graphic software.
  • Detailed understanding of FF&E design and deliverables.
  • Ability to manage concurrent projects at various stages of development.
  • Strong communication skills to convey design ideas and direction quickly.
  • Passionate, self-starting, intelligent, dedicated and efficient.
  • LEED Accreditation a plus.
