Senior Architectural Project Manager Position Overview
JPI is seeking a Senior Architectural Project Manager to lead the design and production of multifamily projects. The ideal candidate will bring 10‑15 years of multifamily experience and a proven ability to deliver high‑quality architectural solutions in a fast‑paced environment. This key leadership role within our Architectural Production Studio will have the chance to shape JPI’s multifamily design direction and grow with us as we expand our architectural capabilities.
Key Responsibilities- Project Leadership: Serve as the design consultant project lead for multiple multifamily projects, overseeing all phases from schematic design to the start of construction administration.
- Design and Documentation: Direct the production of schematic design (SD), design development (DD), and construction documents (CD), ensuring code compliance, quality, and accuracy.
- Kit of Parts & Tools: Utilize a kit of parts approach and software such as Autodesk ACC, Procore, Revit, AutoCAD, Sketch Up, Bluebeam Revu, and Microsoft Office to streamline design and coordinate milestones.
- Team Coordination & Mentoring: Lead, train, and mentor junior architects and outsourced drafting teams; teach codes, design principles, and construction detailing.
- Collaboration with Stakeholders: Work closely with Development, Pre‑Construction, Investment Management, Construction and Owner’s Rep teams, as well as VP of Design, Architectural Production Studio Director, and Architectural CA Studio Director to maintain integrated design and schedule adherence.
- Quality Control & Coordination: Ensure all deliverables adhere to building codes and JPI standards; conduct reviews, coordinate with external consultants, and maintain consistency across phases.
- Client & Stakeholder Management: Act as the primary point of contact, communicating project status, managing expectations, and addressing concerns promptly.
- Resource & Schedule Management: Manage project timelines and resources to meet milestones, maintaining a daily project view and driving weekly schedule updates.
- Innovation & Problem Solving: Provide creative design solutions that balance cost, constructability, and rentability, staying current on industry trends and technologies.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture or a related field.
- Licensed architect preferred but not required.
- 10–15 years of architectural site plan and elevation design experience, focusing on multifamily projects in the U.S.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, Sketch Up, Bluebeam Revu, Procore, and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams).
- Strong understanding of zoning regulations, building codes, and industry standards relevant to multifamily development.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey design concepts to diverse audiences.
- Proven leadership skills, able to inspire and motivate team members toward shared goals.
- Passion for innovation and technology, with a willingness to adopt new tools and methodologies.
- Preferred work locations: TX, FL, TN, AZ, WA.
