Luxury Residential Interior Design

At Semmelmann Interiors, we are a Christian faith driven company where our faith is the foundation of who we are. We believe our work is a calling to serve others through creativity, excellence, generosity, and integrity. Our culture is built on loving people well, leading with humility, and creating homes that positively impact the lives of those who live in them.

If you're looking for more than a job, if you're searching for a purpose-driven career where your gifts, leadership, and passion for people can flourish, we would love to meet you.

About Us

At Semmelmann Interiors, we are not just a nationally known multi award winning design firm who simply design beautiful homes, we create meaningful environments that shape how people live, gather, and celebrate life.

We're searching for an experienced Senior Interior Designer / Project Design Lead who thrives in front of clients, loves building relationships, and possesses the rare ability to blend exceptional creativity with technical expertise. If you naturally earn trust, confidently guide clients through major decisions, and can seamlessly transition from construction detailing to selecting luxury furnishings, textiles, lighting, wallpaper, and finishes, we'd love to meet you.

This is not an entry-level design role. This is an opportunity to lead extraordinary luxury residential projects from the first client conversation through the final installation while working alongside one of the nation's fastest-growing luxury interior design firms.

Who You Are

You genuinely love people.

You're energized by client meetings, understand that great design begins with listening, and know how to transform someone's vision into a home that exceeds every expectation.

You are equally comfortable discussing architectural details with builders as you are layering custom fabrics, selecting artisan lighting, specifying wallpaper, styling accessories, and presenting a fully curated design story.

You see the entire picture—not just individual selections.

What You'll Lead

As our Project Design Lead, you will serve as the primary designer and trusted advisor for luxury residential clients throughout every phase of the project.

You’ll lead projects from concept through installation while collaborating closely with our Design Leadership, Procurement, Operations, Tech Designers, Warehouse, and Vendor Partners.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Leading client relationships with confidence, warmth, and professionalism
  • Space planning and architectural detailing
  • Finish selections including flooring, tile, cabinetry, plumbing, hardware, paint, and specialty finishes
  • Luxury furnishings, custom upholstery, window treatments, rugs, lighting, art, and accessories
  • Custom textiles and wallpaper specifications
  • Client presentations and design storytelling
  • Budget awareness and project coordination
  • Collaboration with builders, architects, contractors, and craftsmen
  • Job site visits, quality control, and installation oversight
  • Delivering an exceptional client experience that naturally generates referrals and lifelong relationships

We're Looking For Someone Who Has

  • 5+ years of luxury residential interior design experience
  • Extensive experience managing client-facing residential projects
  • Strong knowledge of residential construction and architectural detailing
  • Deep understanding of luxury furnishings, textiles, custom drapery, wallpaper, lighting, and finish materials
  • Exceptional presentation and communication skills
  • Confidence leading meetings with affluent clientele
  • Experience reading and reviewing construction drawings and specifications
  • Outstanding organization and project management skills
  • Ability to balance creativity with flawless execution
  • A collaborative leadership style with a positive, solutions-oriented mindset

Experience with CAD, design software, and project management platforms is required.

You'll Thrive Here If You...

  • Love building meaningful relationships with clients.
  • Have an exceptional eye for scale, proportion, texture, and layered design.
  • Can confidently make design decisions while balancing budgets and timelines.
  • Believe details matter just as much as the big picture.
  • Enjoy…
