Interior Designer

ABOUT THE ROLE

Semmelmann Interiors is seeking a highly motivated Interior Designer with an exceptional design eye, tremendous attention to detail, and the confidence to take ownership and move projects forward.

This is an experienced, client-facing role for someone who is creative, decisive, organized, accountable, and highly driven.

You understand that exceptional design isn't just about the vision, it requires accuracy, communication, technical knowledge, follow-through, and exceptional execution.

• Own major components of luxury residential projects and independently manage smaller projects.
• Develop sophisticated design concepts, furnishings packages, finish selections, and construction selections.
• Source furnishings, fabrics, lighting, plumbing, tile, stone, art, accessories, and custom pieces.
• Participate in and lead client meetings, presentations, site visits, and project reviews.
• Communicate confidently with clients, vendors, contractors, fabricators, and trades.
• Coordinate and verify pricing, specifications, dimensions, quantities, lead times, and product availability.
• Prepare accurate proposals and specifications with minimal senior-level correction.
• Review floor plans, elevations, lighting plans, electrical plans, and construction details.
• Maintain awareness of budgets, timelines, deliverables, and client expectations.
• Proactively identify problems, missing information, and next steps.
• Prepare projects for procurement, installation, and final styling.
• Maintain accurate project documentation in Houzz Pro and company systems.

• 5–8+ years of professional interior design experience, preferably luxury residential.
• Exceptional eye for design, scale, proportion, color, materials, and detail.
• Extremely detail-oriented with the ability to catch what others miss.
• Highly driven with a natural sense of ownership and urgency.
• Decisive, resourceful, and comfortable making recommendations.
• Confident, polished, and professional with clients.
• Strong understanding of measurements, pricing, budgets, specifications, and timelines.
• Able to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and priorities simultaneously.
• Strong follow-through—you don't wait to be told every next step.
• Comfortable picking up the phone, solving problems, and moving projects forward.
• Strong technical and space-planning skills.
