Open shifts available for experienced OB hospitalists supporting a high-volume maternity service in a hospital-based setting.

Rhino Medical is leading the charge seeking OB hospitalists for ongoing locum tenens coverage at a Level IV maternal care hospital in Corpus Christi, Texas. This role involves managing obstetric emergencies, unassigned patient deliveries, and providing consultative support within a multidisciplinary team.

Clinical Scope

• Manage all unassigned obstetric and gynecology patients across units
• Deliver patients when community obstetricians are unavailable
• Respond to obstetric emergencies and acute presentations, including triage evaluation
• Provide surgical assist services, including cesarean sections and TOLAC management
• Support high-risk obstetric care, including maternal fetal medicine cases
• Conduct fetal monitoring assessments and maintain proficiency in fetal heart rate interpretation
• Coordinate transport of critically ill obstetric patients
• Assist with obstetric triage and emergency response activities
• Participate in departmental quality improvement and compliance initiatives
• Collaborate with nursing and multidisciplinary teams for operational efficiency

Requirements

• Active MD license in Texas
• DEA registration
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Obstetrics and Gynecology
• Minimum 5 years of OB experience
• Fetal monitoring certification preferred
• Availability for multiple shifts per month
• Clean file for temporary privileges
