The Department of Internal Medicine & Geriatrics at the University of North Texas Health
- Fort Worth is committed to advancing the field of geriatrics through interdisciplinary education, innovative care models, and community engagement. The department oversees interprofessional learning experiences designed to prepare students to meet the needs of older adults across diverse care settings.

Position Overview

UNT Health, the academic clinical practice for the University of North Texas Health Science Center, is seeking a dedicated Psychiatrist to join our multidisciplinary clinical team. This position will support collaborative clinical partnerships to expand access and continuity of behavioral health services across the community.

The Psychiatrist will provide outpatient and consultative psychiatric care within an integrated, team‑based model, contributing to the mission of improving mental health outcomes while advancing academic excellence. The successful candidate will demonstrate excellence in clinical care, a commitment to education, and a collaborative spirit consistent with the values of UNT Health and TCOM.

Minimum Qualifications
  • MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school.
  • Completion of an accredited Psychiatry residency program.
  • Eligible for or holds a Texas medical license.
  • Board eligible or board certified in Psychiatry.
Knowledge,

Skills and Abilities
  • Comprehensive knowledge of psychiatric diagnosis & treatment modalities.
  • Ability to develop and implement evidence‑based treatment plans.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members.
  • Commitment to mentoring students and residents in a teaching‑clinical environment.
  • Ability to manage documentation and clinical records in an EMR system accurately and efficiently.
  • Demonstrated professionalism, compassion, and teamwork in diverse healthcare settings.
