Overview
Reporting to the Faculty Supervisor of the Peer Mentoring Studio, this position facilitates student success and learning through program development, supervision of undergraduate peer mentors, and grant reporting. This position also builds leadership and mentoring skills for the graduate student employee. Mentoring involves active and ongoing relationships between mentors and mentees to promote social and academic development. The peer mentor success coach is a graduate student with a passion for mentoring students holistically, problem-solving academic to non-academic issues that affect academic success.
The peer mentor success coach mentors undergraduate students as they navigate the college environment and achieve their academic and personal goals through study skills, commitment, persistence, accountability, innovation, and integrity. The Peer Mentor Success Coach role requires interaction with students inside and outside of the classroom as well as in the studio for consultations. Administrative duties include office management, program goal writing, social media management, undergraduate training, meeting with the faculty supervisor, and data collection for grant reporting.
- Facilitate student success and learning through program development and supervision of undergraduate peer mentors.
- Support grant reporting activities and data collection.
- Engage in mentoring relationships to promote social and academic development.
- Interact with students inside and outside of the classroom and in the mentoring studio for consultations.
- Contribute to office management, program goal writing, and undergraduate training.
- Graduate student with a passion for mentoring students holistically and problem-solving both academic and non-academic issues affecting academic success.
- Ability to mentor undergraduate students navigating the college environment and working toward academic and personal goals.
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills; capacity for initiative, persistence, accountability, innovation, and integrity.
