Position PurposeProvides professional support to Adult Education programming by performing complex and diverse duties related to the implementation, direction, and supervision of the adult education program ists in overseeing, organizing, planning, implementing, and monitoring the operation of all components, goals, and functions; develops and implements professional development programs consistent with District goals and all applicable laws.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Program Management- Coordinates and implements the District's adult education program, including all events and/or application processes.
- Assists in the implementation of programs through classroom observations, conferences, and assessment data to improve instructional programs.
- Conducts presentations to potential students, community, and other external stakeholders regarding the adult education program.
- Provides technical assistance to the teachers regarding curricular issues, student recruitment and application processes, and stakeholder communications.
- Collaborates with Workforce Solutions Professional Development Center and Agency staff to coordinate Professional Development needs in accordance with Adult Education & Literacy (AEL) grant mandates.
- Coordinates professional development planning, implementation and documentation to ensure OAE staff compliance, effectiveness, and optimal performance.
- Coordinates professional development planning, implementation and documentation as directed by Workforce Solutions in accordance with AEL Technical Assistance Plans where applicable.
- Develops specialized curriculum and other replicable resources to support contextualized instruction at the Professional Development Center, and other discretionary innovation projects as directed by Workforce Solutions or the OAE.
- Monitors instructional progress to evaluate progress toward program goals and gathers other significant data relevant to the success of initiatives, grants, or programs, when applicable.
- Coordinates the development and implementation of effective and efficient assessment systems, and data collection processes, that provide a record of baseline measures and tracks longitudinal trends.
- Prepares and submits all reports and data regarding the assigned programs.
- Provides regular feedback to the Director regarding the status of projects or issues.
- Maintains physical and computerized departmental files.

- Provides regular updates of program activities and services to appropriate audiences.
- Collaborates with District departments to coordinate and implement programs that support the adult learner.
- Communicates the latest developments in curriculum and innovative instructional programs to improve student achievement.
- Continues to acquire professional knowledge and learn of current developments in the educational field by attending seminars, workshops or professional meetings, or by conducting research.
- Performs preventive maintenance on tools and equipment and ensures equipment is in safe operating condition.
- Follows established safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties including lifting and climbing; operates tools and equipment according to established safety procedures.
- Corrects unsafe conditions in work area and promptly reports any conditions that are not immediately correctable to supervisor.
- Selects, trains, supervises, and evaluates staff, and makes recommendations relative to assignment, retention, discipline, and dismissal.
