Purpose:
Innovation Coaches provide assistance to teachers and the curriculum coordinators as technology is integrated into guiding document learning experiences. To provide the framework to implement this curriculum, Innovation Coaches provide services such as planning and conducting staff training and mentoring teachers with technology integration and electronic administrative duties. The Innovation Coach works with teachers to align curriculum to ensure that the Technology TEKS are taught in all Tech Apps classes K-12 as well as to increase the rigor of lesson activities in teacher classrooms.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
* Bachelor's or Master's degree
* Valid Texas teaching certificate
* Technology Applications Certification (or working toward)
Special Knowledge/
Skills:
* Knowledge of software applications
* Ability to develop and deliver technology training to adult learners
* Ability to develop technology curriculum lessons
* Ability to connect equipment with peripherals
* Knowledge of curriculum and technology used in instructional setting
* Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
* Knowledge of facilitating virtual connections
* Knowledge of current theories, techniques, methodologies, and development of K-12 STREAM curriculum design
* Knowledge of new and upcoming technologies
* Ability to manage projects
* Ability to evaluate data and trends to determine program effectiveness
* Work with appropriate staff to design high quality learning experiences aligned to curriculum standards to effectively engage the digital learner
Experience:
* Three years teaching experience

Training:
* Provide campus and district-level professional learning aligned with the technology standards outlined by the State Board of Educator Certification (SBEC) and the Bright Bytes Survey;
* Design and manage instructional professional learning for face-to-face, web-based instructional elements, instructional materials, and training tutorials.
* Assess participant acquisition of skills using a variety of evaluation procedures.
* Support and share effective instructional strategies with teachers for the effective use of technology that transforms the classroom into a blended learning environment.
* Seeking new technologies for equipment and applications in order to provide training to staff and students so that instruction is enhanced with 21st Century Skills.
* Provide personalized support for campus Professional Learning Communities.
Technical Support:
* Assist with detection and resolution of software application and hardware problems.
* Serve as liaison to outside vendors that provide support for technology peripherals, website development, software and materials.
* Assist principal(s) and campus committees with planning of technology training, implementation of technology plans, developing campus improvement plans, and selection of technology software.
* Assist in evaluating the implementation of technology at the campus and district level.
Budget and Inventory:
* General knowledge of the district budget and how it relates to technology expenditures.
* Monitor purchase and use of software to meet copyright standards at the campus level.
Other:
* Compile, maintain, and file all physical and computerized reports, records, and other documents required.
* Comply with policies established by federal and state law, State Board of Education rule, and local board policy.
* Comply with all district and campus routines and regulations.
* Must be present regularly in person.
Professional Growth and Development:
* Participate in staff development activities to improve job-related skills.
* Comply with state, district, and school regulations and policies for classroom teachers.
* Attend and participate in department meetings and serve on district committees as required.
* Perform other duties as required by the Supervisor and/or Superintendent.
* Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures.
